Professional Bodywork Background

Susan has been offering bodywork since 1989. It helps her maintain her own health and has resolved some issues that eluded other medical professionals. Continued education leads her to new solutions and inspires her to this day.

In San Diego, she studied at The Institute for Psycho-Structural Balancing for a total of 270 classroom hours, and was honored to be to a massage therapist at the renowned Hotel del Coronado. In San Francisco, Susan worked as a therapist with a chiropractor from 1991 to 1996. At that time she started studying Neuro-Muscular Therapy, and realized how she could help people. She also gained valuable experience at a clinic that specialized in Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI, similar to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome). Upon certification in Lymphatic and Visceral Work, she worked at a clinic that specialized in Lymph Edema. In 1995, she founded her private practice. In 2001, she joined the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She often makes public presentations on various aspects of her specialty.

Most of her bodywork education is in the area of techniques listed above as "Services and Therapeutic Techniques". She has also completed conventional scholastic work: a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities; Anatomy and Physiology at Patten College; and as a part-time student at San Francisco State University she successfully completed a pre-med course in 2004. Presently, she studies Kinetic Chain Theory.

“Throughout the past ten years, even when working on specific health issues, Susan's special gift allows her to see me as a whole . She combines therapies, techniques and a thorough knowledge of health strategies to improve my quality of life and long-term well-being.

I am very grateful for the dedication and patience she has brought to my health maintenance, and I look forward to working with her for many more years.”

Personal Background

For ten years, her first career was as a stage actress. She was introduced to bodywork there via the Alexander Technique, which helps many performers access their "true" voices and movements. She loved her time in theatre, with lots of exploration, discovery and fun.

Now her passion is athletics. An active member in the Dolphin-Sound-End Runners (DSE) and the South End Rowing Club in San Francisco, she enjoys the physical challenges shared with the many gifted athletes counted among her friends. Recent events completed are the Dolphin Club's 2004 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon and the Medic 2005 Marathon.
