  Services and Therapeutic Approaches

Neuro-Muscular Therapy focuses on releasing specific muscles and reducing trigger points in muscles and organs, opening nerve and blood entrapment/impingement, and correcting postural distortion. Specifically, this can help to relieve almost any joint problem, and may be an effective alternative to surgery.

Lymphatic and Visceral Work decreases swelling, cleans out congestion, and assists in detoxification. It can reduce chronic illness, allergic reactions and sinus infections, asthma/lung and arthritis problems. This is relaxing and pleasurable.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy is very subtle and works on a deep level to help bones and tissues to shift back into place. Tuning into the rhythms inherent in each person's body naturally reduces blockages and gives the freedom to move in new ways.

Joint therapy helps bones shift back into alignment with gentle movement when the structures are ready to release, thereby increasing range of motion and strength and reducing pain.

Massage of Meridians where they cross a stuck joint can release it in an almost magical way. Meridians are lines of energy in the body that need to be moving freely for optimal health. These are the same lines acupuncturists put needles in to break up blocks.

Rehabilitative exercises can be offered to help change the habits that may have caused or exacerbated the problem. The exercises strengthen underused muscles, and help to develop new movement patterns so your body will stay more relaxed - and stress free!

Time: 1 ¼ to 1 ½ hour sessions

Includes use of Bach Flower Remedies, which are a specialized kind of homeopathy. They release emotional blocks allowing the body to heal.

I had a successful outcome thanks to Susan Herder's treatments, so I recommended her to some of my tennis friends. One had a back problem, one a foot problem and one a knee/leg problem. All three said that they really liked her work and were very pleased with their progress. So many of my athletic friends have soft tissue problems (i.e. muscle, tendon, ligament). There are very few good therapists who do this type of work. Susan is very good.”
